It took almost three hours to re-charge a completely depleted battery and perhaps the biggest negative was the $14,995 price tag. The motor is basically maintenance free with a 1000-hour maintenance cycle and you don’t need to clean air filters or change the oil. The lack of a shifter allows you to evenly weight both pegs and you don’t have to worry about being in the right gear or stalling the motor in tight and technical conditions. On the track and trails, the 2017 Redshift MX had some advantages over a standard internal combustion-powered motorcycle. We also noted that electric powered cars have proven to be among the quickest production cars available, so the technology is there but it is challenging to squeeze that down to fit into a motorcycle. My plan was to replace them and update the valving to the Alta factory team specs (there’s a forum thread on it). The only thing it could use is fork seals - there is a small amount of oil on the lowers after a ride. Kickstand sensor (if you wanted to load the EXR firmware and have the safety built in, not necessary) Stock left side peg bracket if you wanted to remove the kickstand version Newer rear tire (Tusk Recon hybrid gummy, awesome tire for woods riding) New front fender (liked the look of the white) Updated mud flap from the 2018+ (flexible material instead of hard plastic) Updated rear brake master cylinder boot guard like the 2018+ (top is angled in so it doesn’t catch boot) Plugged cooling system like the 2018+ version ( Plug your coolant overflow hose) Kickstand and added custom strap to lock it up New chain, sprockets, and chain guide (1 ride) It shows the total hours in multitool, but since this function was added after this bike was built the display only starts counting then (odd little programming thing). The hours on the display only show 38.3 because that’s when I upgraded the firmware to the newest version.
No codes or issues, 1045.6 miles, 100.9 hours (may go up as I continue to ride it).
